Popular rapper Soulja Boy is the latest celebrity to be taking heavy interest in the Esports scene, after he announced plans to form an organisation to compete on various fronts, including popular games like Fortnite, CSGO, Overwatch and Call of Duty.
Speaking to TMZ, he said: “We’re going to be finding talent, hiring talent. I’m going to put together a team for Fortnite, put together a team for Call of Duty, put together a team for Overwatch, Counter-Strike, all of that.”
He also credits popular Fortnite streamer and good friend Ninja as his mentor as he enters into an uncharted territory, and also hopes to sign him from Luminosity, but admits that “it’s going to cost me a lot to hire Ninja to play for me.”
Soulja Boy had made the video game headlines earlier this month when he announced the SouljaGame Consule, an emulator that will allow you to play classic games ranging from classic PlayStation titles to classic Nintendo titles. He is best known for tracks like Crank That and Kiss Me Thru The Phone.
