Casa Azzurri in Iserlohn hosted a panel for Euro2024 with the Ministry of Tourism, Lazio Regional Authorities and the FIGC: “The Italian National Football Team’s role is pivotal for the export of Made in Italy”
Those taking part included MP Gianluca Caramanna, deputy and political advisor from the Ministry of Tourism, Lazio Council Treasurer and Councillor for Agriculture and Food Sovereignty Giancarlo Righini and the FIGC Vice Secretary General and Revenue Area Manager Giovanni Valentini
The main player at ‘Casa Azzurri’ is Italian tourism, with special focus on sports tourism. This panel promoted by the Ministry of Tourism, partner of the FIGC for these European Championships in Germany, ENIT and the Lazio Regional Authorities, discussed the opportunities that sport offers Italy: on the one hand events promoted in the country that help to increase incoming tourism and, on the other, the ability of Italian sportspeople in any discipline to convey the image of the “BelPaese” all over the world.
On stage, Gianluca Caramanna, Member of Parliament and political advisor at the Ministry of Tourism, the Council Treasurer, Councillor for Agriculture and Food Sovereignty Giancarlo Righini from the Lazio Regional Authority (the other official partner of ‘Casa Azzurri’), and the FIGC Vice Secretary General and Revenue Area Manager Giovanni Valentini.
“Sporting events,” highlighted Mr Caramanna, “are a central asset of our tourism. In fact, here we are, in Germany, a country whose inhabitants so often choose Italy for their sporting activities. This is a winning model that allows Italy to represent an added value in terms of tourist numbers. I’d also like to mention another event that will be taking place over the next few weeks in Rome, the table tennis world championships, bringing tourists from all over Asia, where table tennis is a national sport in many countries. We are doing an excellent job also because tourism is a focal point for interministerial tables, work that is bringing great results.”
