StarCraft 2 Confirmed To Join Esports World Cup 2025

StarCraft 2 is all set to join the list of games in the upcoming Esports World Cup 2025, as confirmed in a recent announcement by the Esports World Cup Foundation.

The iconic real-time strategy (RTS) title from Blizzard will once again return to the Esports World Cup following its appearance last year and its earlier inclusion in the Gamers8 festival—the predecessor of EWC.

While tournament details for this year have yet to be revealed, last year’s StarCraft 2 event saw 16 top players battling it out for a share of a $1.05 million USD prize pool. Team Liquid’s Clément ‘Clem‘ Desplanches managed to take home the trophy, while BASILISK’s Joona ‘Serral‘ Sotala finished as the runner-up.

This year, the StarCraft II tournament at the Esports World Cup is scheduled to run from August 15 to 18.

For the uninitiated, the Esports World Cup is a premier global esports event that brings together the world’s top competitive titles under one roof. The tournament series features a wide array of games and boasts massive prize pools, making it one of the most anticipated fixtures on the competitive gaming calendar.

Esports World Cup 2025 will feature a total of 24 games, with the newest additions being Chess, Crossfire, and Valorant. The prestigious Esports World Cup 2025 is set to kick off on July 8, 2025, and will span approximately seven weeks before concluding on August 24, 2025.
