A new CS scam has surfaced in which scammers pretend to be professional gamers and deceive others.
Scamsters have always devised new ways to rob gamers and following a recent surfacing of a Steam exploit, said scammers can impersonate famous CS2 personalities and make profiles look more believable. The exploits lets anyone plug links to items from other users in the game reviews which can be displayed in the profile posed as something they own.
Deceived to this, many CS2 players are entering into trade agreements without proper due diligence and as a result, they are getting scammed. The new exploit lets players link Major trophies, expensive skins, and everything that can be put in a Steam inventory.
Popular CS content creator Onzzy has pointed out how a scammer was able to replicate his profile with the sole intention of scamming people. Given the recent exploit, it has become way too easy to simply replicate a profile and approach other players with malicious intent.
To avoid getting scammed, make sure to only trade via Steam or make sure to peruse the trading methods of the platform that you are using to avoid such con artists getting the better of you.
