Steam Reportedly Adds Crucial Safety Feature to Protect Users from Scammers

New Login? Hold on the Trades: Steam's Alleged Anti-Scam Feature Explained

Steam has introduced a much-needed new safety feature to prevent its users from getting scammed, as per reports.

Brought to light in a recent X post by user ‘voko_trades’, Steam has added a new security feature that aims to combat scammers in an effective manner.

This newly added safety feature ensures that whenever you log into your Steam account from a new device, trading from that specific device will automatically be disabled for a few days.

When attempting to make trades from the new device, users will see the message: “You have logged in from a new device. In order to protect the items in your inventory, you will be unable to trade from this device for days.”

This feature provides users with additional time to react if their accounts are hacked, as scammers will be unable to make trades from a different device for at least a few days.

Please note that Valve has not officially confirmed this information, and this report is based on previous claims.

Overall, the community has commended Valve on its strict stance against scammers. However, a lot of Steam users have also pointed out that they should be immediately notified if their account is accessed from a different device.
