T1 Steel Says New Valorant Map Pearl is Similar to CS Map De_Season

It has already been a few days since Riot Games first unveiled Valorant’s newest map, Pearl, and fans of the shooter have already had the chance to take a look at everything that the new map will bring to the game.

While players will still have to wait a few more days to be able to play it on the live servers, many players have started claiming that Pearl looks similar to some maps of Counter-Strike, Valorant’s primary rival in the tactical shooter genre.

Set in Lisbon, Portugal, Valorant’s new map Pearl is located in an underwater dome with rich visuals and some exciting Easter eggs. . The map features long, narrow corridors with sharp corners that lead to an open middle area, which is giving off similar vibes to some CS maps like Inferno or Cobblestone, according to many players.

However, as mentioned by T1 in-game leader Joshua “steel” Nissan in a recent Tweet, the new Valorant map Pearl might be more similar to a CS Source map than Inferno or Cobblestone.

The 32-year-old has said that, after reviewing the minimap of Pearl, it seems to give off “vibes” similar to the CS:S map De_Season.

For the unaware, De_Season was a community-created map in CS Source that was later added to CS:GO as part of Operation Vanguard in 2014, before being removed from the game two years later.

Valorant Pearl Release Date

Valorant fans will have to wait till the arrival of Episode 5 Act 1 to be able to try out the new map. Pearl is the newest Valorant map and is all set to make it to the live servers on June 22nd, 2022.

Valorant is a 5v5 competitive shooter that is currently available to play exclusively on PC, with a mobile version of the game being currently in the works.
