“We want to create a venue where people can enjoy the sport,” Rufail said.
Shah said the investment from SierraMaya360 will also help the team to continue building brand awareness, hire more support personnel in marketing, sales and content creation, and secure more sponsorships. EnVyUs’ current sponsors include Monster Energy, Hyper X Gaming, Zowie BenQ, DXRacer, Elgato Gaming and Scuf Gaming.
Team EnVyUs has active rosters in Call of Duty, CS:GO, Gears of War, Halo, Overwatch, Smite and Starcraft. The team is projected to bring in over $1 million in annual revenue this year, according to Rufail.
Most recently, EnVyUs’ CS:GO team placed first at the Global eSports Cup Season 1, beating Team Dignitas 3-0. They are also one of the 24 teams invited to compete at ELEAGUE, which will feature a $1.2 million prize pool.
