Team Liquid on Twitter have announced the addition of Richard “shox” Papillon to their active CS:GO division, just a day after the North American side signed Josh “oSee” Ohm to their roster as their primary sniper.
After being earlier reported by TalkEsport and 1pv.fr, Team Liquid have brought aboard Shox from Team Vitality whom the French team parted ways with, a week ago. shox had joined Team Vitality back in September 2019 from G2 Esports who in quick succession steered the team to the championship at the EPICENTER 2019 over Mousesports although the French side were unable to carry forward their momentum into 2020 with just a win in the bag at the IEM XV Beijing 2020 : Europe, which came after a year since their run at the EPICENTER.
This move was earlier rumoured as a part of the French overhaul where Team Vitality were reportedly exploring options to replace shox, Jayson “Kyojin” Nguyen Van, and Rémy “XTQZZZ” Quoniam after the team’s failure at the PGL Stockholm Major 2021 which indeed forced them back to the drawing board. Although Team Vitality seemed rejuvenated at the recent events, winning the IEM Winter 2021 trophy and ending as runner-ups twice against CIS heavyweights and Major winners Natus Vincere at the BLAST Premier Final Fall and the World Final.
shox is the fourth player to have been unveiled by Liquid after they earlier signed oSee from Extra Salt in a bid to replace the benched trio of Gabriel “FalleN” Toledo, Michael “Grim” Wince and Jake “Stewie2k” Yip. Nick “nitr0” Cannella has also joined the shenanigans and is expected to feature back in Team Liquid’s next iteration for the 2022 pro season.
