Team Spirit Beats Virtus.pro 2-0 at BLAST Open Lisbon 2025

Team Spirit are in the quarter-finals of Blast Open Lisbon after beating Virtus.pro with a 2-0 score line. Having lost to MOUZ twice in this event, Spirit’s morale has been at an all-time low since 2024 and a trophy in Lisbon will once again set them on the winning path but with a high-flying Vitality, Spirit will have the hardest path to the trophy.

VETO:

  • Virtus.pro removed Nuke
  • Spirit removed Inferno
  • Virtus.pro picked Ancient
  • Spirit picked Anubis
  • Virtus.pro removed Train
  • Spirit removed Mirage
  • Dust2 was left over

Map 1: Ancient; Pick: VP; Winner: Spirit;

Following their stunning comeback against the Falcons, VP went on to post a stunning T-side that sent Spirit on the backfoot right from the get-go. While the scoreboard suggested a close match, Spirit managed to rope in a few rounds by the end of the first half. While the VP managed to level the score early on in the map, Spirit managed to edge and win out as the VP’s defence was rendered useless in the end. Despite going on the backfoot, donk managed to spearhead Spirit into a win despite VP giving a tough fight.

Map 2: Anubis; Spirit: VP; Winner: Spirit;

Anubis is one of Spirit’s better maps but VP managed to keep up with the Spirit. Both teams being inseparable for the first half, put VP in prime position to take the game to the third map. While VP started off strong in their defence, Spirit took charge of the game on the offence leaving VP with little room to take back control of the game. Winning 6 rounds in a row, Spirit managed to close out the game. The supporting cast of donk, was complemented by zont1x taking charge of the game with 22 frags to his name.

Stunning performance from VP throughout the tournament as it took the number 1 ranked team in the world to knock them out of the tournament.From shocking FaZe with a 13-0 to outlasting a tough battle of overtime against Falcons, electronic’s leadership has shaped them into a threatening side and the upcoming tournament can see them making deep runs.
