Intentionally feeding is a serious problem in MOBAs, and even the developers behind the most popular MOBA titles in the world like League of Legends or Dota 2 have struggled to keep the numbers of feeders and game ruiners in check.
While Riot has recently implemented stricter measures to prevent feeding, it is becoming a cause of concern in the community due to an increasing number of reports of false positives.
Today, popular League of Legends streamer ‘Thebausffs’ picked up a ban for intentionally feeding in his games. He resorted to Twitter to share the news with his fans, simply saying, “I just got banned for intentional feeding.”
However, fans are lashing out at Riot following this move, claiming that his ban is “unjust”.
In his two most recent games, ‘Thebausffs’ went 4/10/3 and 4/15/0 respectively. While at first glance it may seem like he’s intentionally feeding the enemy team, taking a closer look reveals that in his last game, he had the highest amount of damage dished out to the opposition of all players in his team.
It’s hard to pass him as an ‘intentional feeder’ since a griefer would typically have a low damage output throughout the course of a game.
For now, the ban of ‘Thebausffs’ from League of Legends seems to be temporary. Unless Riot decides to extend the duration of his ban in future, the streamer should be able to play the game after January 23, 2021.
