A sequel to Respawn Entertainment’s 2014 title Titanfall, Titanfall 2 came out 2 years later and had a rough launch as it released just a week after Battlefield, and a week before Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, while Titanfall 2 sold well, it simply couldn’t compete with two already established and popular franchises and as a result, Respawn shifted its focus onto different projects and went on to work on Apex Legends which soon became one of the most successful battle-royale titles.
Titanfall 2’s campaign was well-received due to its unique and memorable level design, set-pieces and story, while its multiplayer was a great stand-in for some casual and fun experience with both its PvP and PvE modes.
Titanfall 2 reached a new peak player count of 16,958 players on Steam after an all-time low price after being discounted at 75% off on the platform. Titanfall 2 came to steam in the summer of last year and was 67% at launch which resulted in a high player count of 13,427 players, excluding EA’s Origin platform.
This boost in the player count is also partly due to Apex Legends’ Legacy update which introduces us to a new legend Kairi “Valkyrie” Imahara, the daughter of Viper from Titanfall 2. Season 9 will also have direct references to other characters and lore from Titanfall.
Titanfall 2 and Apex Legends are available on Steam and EA Origin.
