True Rippers win against MLT esports on Day 3 of VCL South Asia 2023

Day 3 saw the match up of two new rosters, True Rippers and MLT Esports battling it out against each other. It also marked the debut of the only Non- Indian Organization participating in VCL South Asia, MLT Esports, a Bangladeshi Esports Organization.

MLT esports also boasts of an all Indian roster, while True Rippers brought in two players from Philippines.

Today’s match also saw the debut of young talent on LAN, MLT Venka2cold and TR Kaizen, who represented the upcoming talent in esports.

True Rippers Roster and Lineup

The roster of True Rippers consists of Saaransh “Whimp” Dang as the IGL, Aditya “Pixelzz” Gulhane, Chogyal “Kaizen” Bhutia, Philip “Aryu” Vergara, Nereus “d1srupt” Lico and Shravana “Techno ” Sahoo (Sub).

The roster showed the perfect balance of young talent and experienced veterans.

MLT Esports Roster and Lineup

The roster of MLT Esports comprised of Atharv “Rio” Ahire as the IGL, Saharyar “BadmaN” Shaikh, Abhay “KnightRider” Mulchandani, Jay “BADlove” Patil and Venkatesh “Venka” Sharma.

Map Veto and Selection

Map veto consisted of True Rippers banning Fracture while MLT banned Lotus. Ascent was the first pick of True Rippers followed by MLT picking Haven. Split and Icebox were banned and the third map ended up being Pearl.

Match Recap

Starting off with Ascent, MLT managed to finish the first half 7-5 in their favor. The 13th round saw the first ace of the event by the young talent TR Kaizen. This ace helped True Rippers get the momentum they needed in the defensive side, as they did not drop a single round while defending, taking Ascent in their bag with the score of 13-7.

Whimp was awarded the MVP for the first map with the ACS of 226 on Killjoy.

Moving on to the second map of Haven, MLT managed to get the same scoreline of 7-5 in the first half again. The map would have gone to an Overtime if it wasn’t for TR Aryu, who clutched an insane 1v2 at 12-11 scoreline. 

Venka2cold proved to be an absolute beast with an ACS of 327, getting 27 frags. But it wasn’t enough for them to close out the map on their pick of Haven.
