South Korean Esports team T1 has signed popular League of Legends streamer Tyler “tyler1” Steinkamp, as announced on their social media handles.
Signed as a content creator, Tyler1 will host the T1 banner on his streams and will be their ambassador for future LoL events. One of the most popular personalities in the LoL scene, Tyler1 has over 3.4 million followers on Twitch.
The 25-year-old holds the notorious reputation for being extremely toxic for griefing and being disrespectful, which earned him the nickname of “The most Toxic player in NA,” which led him to be banned for almost 2 years between 2016 and 2018.
On his return, however, his first stream broke the record for the most concurrent viewers on Twitch by peaking at 382,000. Steinkamp has also held a parody LoL tournament in 2017 called Tyler Championship Series (TCS) which drew more than 200,000 concurrent viewers, with the winning team getting $10,000 funded by Tyler himself.
