As the 2022 CS:GO season approaches, Evil Geniuses is pumped to introduce this year’s new roster with both legendary and accomplished players.
The 2022 EG CS:GO Roster:
William “RUSH” Wierzba
Jake “Stewie2K” Yip
Vincent “Brehze” Cayonte
Timothy “autimatic” Ta
Tsvetelin “CeRq” Dimitrov
Damien “maLeK” Marcel – Head Coach
Paolo “EVY” Berbudeau – Assistant Coach
Juan “Hepa” Borges – Analyst
After a disappointing end to 2021, the goal was simple: build a team that could dominate on a global scale and bring trophies home to North America.
That roster starts with CeRq and Brehze, two players who have been anchors on EG since they joined the organization in 2019. They helped bring EG a title at ESL One New York and took the team to great heights. They look to continue their journey leading this CS:GO team to success in 2022.
The new members of the squad are legendary names in NA CS:GO: Stewie2K, RUSH, and Autimatic. Those three were key pieces in bringing a Major title to North America in 2018. The history of what these players accomplished only a few years ago is unquestioned, but they still have plenty of skill and desire to make another run.
Stewie joins EG from Team Liquid where he was part of an Intel Grand Slam winning team and consistently flashed the skills that make him a star. RUSH was an extremely solid player with Complexity for the past two years before coming to EG.
Autimatic, an absolute talent, comes back to CS:GO after trying another game for a change of pace. While all have found success on different teams and games since then, they have come back together at EG with CeRq and Brehze to turn the tide in NA. With this revamped roster EG prepares to have Stewie2K serve as the team’s in-game leader and CeRq as the team’s AWP. Autimatic will go back into the rifler position.
No team has a chance without a coaching staff that can prepare them to win. maLeK’s run at G2 as Head Coach saw his team challenge for the scene’s most coveted championships, most recently making the grand finals for both the PGL Major Stockholm and IEM Cologne in 2021.
maLeK rounds out his coaching staff with another former G2 coach, EVY, who will join Evil Geniuses as the team’s assistant coach along with Hepa, the team’s analyst, who was previously with Team Liquid.
The coaching staff will use their in-depth experience and knowledge of the game, along with Evil Geniuses industry-leading data science and analytics team led by Counter-Strike veteran Soham “valens” Chowdhury, to bring out the best from the team’s gifted roster with the goal of climbing to the top of the CS:GO scene.
Fans can show their support of Evil Geniuses’ new CS:GO roster by tuning into the BLAST Spring Group Stage Tournament set to take place January 28 through February 6, 2022. Evil Geniuses are in Group C and their first match is Sunday, January 30th against the revamped Vitality super-roster.
The Group also provides a great storyline with Stewie likely facing off against his former team in Liquid.
