Valorant devs edge past streamers summ1t and shroud in an exhibition match

Top streamers such as Shroud & Summit1G went against Riot developers in a competitive Valorant showmatch, and it sure did show the fans how to play the agents and the game overall.

On 8th of April, a showmatch took place that brought together the most popular FPS players to face off against the developers who had designed and built Valorant from the very beginning.

On one side we saw Tyler ‘Skadoodle’ Latham, Michael ‘Shroud’ Grzesiek, Coby ‘dizzy’ Meadows, Jardy ‘summit1g’ Lazar and Erik ‘fl0m’ Flom who were part of the streaming team that was going up against a team of Riot devs.

Everyone thought that the capabilities and mechanics of these world known streamers is going to be sufficient to take down a team of developers who had better game and map knowledge but it didn’t turn out this way, infact it was totally opposite of what everyone expected.

Even though Valorant looks similar to CS:GO in terms of gunplay and map design, the showmatch proved that sheer gunplay isn’t enough to win a game in Valorant, thanks to the unique agents and their abilities. Because of better map knowledge and better command over the agents and their abilities, devs got a dominant W in all the three games played during the showmatch. And we can’t say that it was close.

All these matches can be found on caster Goldenboy’s stream to watch, however, we are embedding the video down below for you guys to watch. You may skip to 02:24:40 timestamp to start from the first game.

Watching the games in the show match, we can say that there’s still a lot to learn about the game. Also when the games were over Shroud mentioned that “We are in a classroom right now!” because he was really impressed and amazed with what he had just witnessed. When the game gets its global release in the summer of 2020 and the players had put in sufficient practice, it would be really interesting to see the showdown again between a team of top streamers and Riot devs. What do you think?
