All you need to know about VCT LCQ : North America

The Last Chance Qualifier of the Valorant Champions Tour circuit in North America is all set to begin from Oct 12 with a total of eight teams in contention towards the lone spot at the Valorant Champions event, to be held later this year in Berlin.

The Last Chance Qualifier is an invite-only tournament where the participants are determined based on their circuit points on the VCT Leaderboard. Although Sentinels had already punched their ticket to the marquee event from their 3-0 stomp over Fnatic at the Stage 2 Masters, the North American teams would finally be able to take a breather as they now have their eyes set on the ultimate prize, a final passage to the Global Champions event.

Earlier the VCT LCQ event in North America were to host 10 teams until Team ORDER and Chiefs Esports decided to pull out from the tournament citing travel restrictions, impacted by the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic further sabotaging their tour to Los Angeles. This indeed forced the event organizers to reconsider their options and shorten the same to an eight team tournament.

You can find the list of eight teams here below who would battle out for that one lone spot at the champions.

1.  100 Thieves
2.  Cloud9
3.  Gen.G
4.  FaZe Clan
5.  Luminosity Gaming
6.  Rise
7.  Version1
8.  XSET

Had Team Envy won the Stage 3 Masters in Berlin, it could’ve made it possible for Team SoloMid to make an appearance at the forthcoming LCQ as 100 Thieves would have qualified for the Champions on the basis of their circuit points.

VCT have also revealed the initial matchups for the NA LCQ with Anthony “vanity” Malaspina from Cloud9 Blue taking on his former team Version1 while Aaron “b0i” Thao debuts with 100 Thieves who earlier replaced Joshua “steel” Nissan on the active roster.
