Brimstone has undoubtedly been one of the most underwhelming agents in Valorant as of late. Not only are his win-rates low compared to other Valorant controllers, but his pick rate in the professional scene has also taken a drastic hit over the last few months.
For instance, stats reveal that Brimstone had a zero percent pick rate in the Valorant First Strike North American Finals, while he made only four appearances in the European Finals. For comparison, fellow controller Omen had a whopping 100% pick rate in the North American Finals.

These significant differences in the numbers speak for themselves, and the Valorant community seems to agree – Brimstone needs a serious buff that’ll enable him to remain in the competition against other controllers in the shooter.
Luckily, brighter days might be near for Brimstone pickers, as Riot devs have confirmed that the agent is about to receive a buff in an upcoming Valorant update.
In a Reddit post asking for a Brimstone update, Riot dev ‘Altombre’ commented, saying, “We agree. Brimstone buffs are coming very soon.”
This assurance from a Valorant developer himself has got the player base of the title hyped about the Episode 2 update to see what it has in store for Brimstone. What sort of buff will the agent receive is still uncertain, however.
