Cloud9 Blue on Twitter have confirmed the addition of Anthony “vanity” Malaspina to their Cloud9 Blue Valorant Division. The same was earlier reported by TalkEsport which now confirms the deal between the player and the North American Organization after the former decided to re-evaluate his options going forward post the team’s elimination from the VCT Stage 3 Challengers 2.

In a YouTube video, vanity stated that his decision to join Cloud9 was “self-driven” and to have a shot at betterment going forward in his career. Under Version1, the 22-year-old North American steered the latter to Valorant’s first-ever LAN tournament at VCT 2021: Stage 2 Masters in Reykjavík, Iceland. Prior to the same, Version1 beat Cloud9 in the Challengers Final of VCT 2 only to represent the North American region at Reykjavik along with Sentinels at the former.

Since the departure of Josh “shinobi” Abastado from Cloud9 Blue in December 2020, Mitch “mitch” Semago had taken up the in-game leading duties only to be passed onto vanity. From an earlier report, it was advised that Ricky “floppy” Kemery would be stepping down from Cloud9 Blue but the same hasn’t been yet confirmed by the Los Angeles based team.

Cloud9 Blue Valorant now has seven players on their team and it will be interesting to see how the roster transitions into their roles. Vanity will debut with his new team at the NSG: Summer Championship, to start from August 18.
