North America’s oldest esports organization Evil Geniuses has revealed the first-ever mixed-gender Valorant roster. The company calls this a ‘game-changer’ ahead of the Valorant Champions Tour Debut this week.
Riot Games’ new FPS game Valorant has already seen the surge of competitive scene amid the ongoing pandemic in 2020. While all of the teams have been following the status quo by building an all-male and/or all-female roster, EG has taken a bold step.
“This team is not like the others. We’re building a Valorant squad, and doing things our way, If you’ve got a hot take, spare us. This isn’t a gimmick. It’s a game-changer,” the organization stated in its announcement.

The team will make their first appearance at Valorant Champions Tour later this week which will be a test of their innovative attempt. After all, the skill set of the players will eventually matter and not the gender configuration.
