This Monday, March 29th, the agency Gaming Culture announced the 2nd edition of their women’s championship of Valorant. The first edition was in November 2020 and had the Fire Angels (currently INTZ Angels) team as champions. The caster Letícia Motta is the ambassadress for the tournament.
The competition is part of the VALORANT Game Changers, a support program from Riot Games for tournaments involving women and other minorities. It also has the sponsorship of the manufacturer of monitors and peripherals gamers AOC.
This will be a second initiative supported by AOC in the brazilian Valorant scenario in 2021, at the beginning of the year, the company held the Ultimasters AOC, a championship won by the Team Vikings (which recently won Masters Brasil). The peripheral manufacturer also sponsors the Brazilian organization Furia and Red Canids, in addition to the European G2.
The Product & Marketing Director of the AOC, Bruno Morari, spoke about the importance of the action:
“We are very proud to support an initiative that enhances the female presence in the gaming scenario. As the TOP 1 in gaming monitors market share, we need to take a position on causes that represent our values. AOC will continue to manufacture the best products for gamers, other than promoting support and responsibility through actions that aim equality and female representation in the gaming community.”
Registration for the Girl Pwr Valorant is open, the tournament will have the qualifiers on April 7th and 8th, the eight best teams will qualify for the main event that will take place on April 15th, 16th, 17th, and 18th, with broadcast on Twitch by Gaming Culture.
