Katsumi Makes Bold Move to Mixed-Roster Challengers After Leaving Valorant Game Changers

Katsumi’s announcement on October 15th took many by surprise. She revealed her intention to step away from the Game Changers scene to pursue qualification for Challengers in 2024 with a mixed-gender roster. In her words, Game Changers was a “temporary step” and not the end goal. She expressed gratitude for the opportunities and experiences the platform provided but felt the need to challenge herself further outside the Game Changers ecosystem.

Katsumi’s rise in the eSports arena is noteworthy. During her tenure with the former Cloud9 White squad, she clinched seven regional championships and made a significant appearance at the first GC World Championship. However, post the disbandment of Cloud9’s Game Changers roster, Katsumi transitioned to XSET Purple. Despite some initial successes, the team faced challenges, leading to Katsumi’s decision to explore new horizons.

Katsumi’s next venture involves competing for the Valorant Challengers 2024 qualification. She will be teaming up with her former Cloud9 White coach, Reid “x0tek” Johnson, and other notable players like Jason “JSUNG” Sung, Danny Huynh, and PapiCantaloupe. This new endeavor promises to be an exciting chapter in her eSports journey.
