Team Heretics wins Valorant First Strike Europe Champions

Spanish professional Esports organization, Team Heretics have won the Valorant First Strike Europe championship. The first strike was managed and sponsored by Riot games across 11 regions among which are Europe, North America, APAC, and South Korea.

Today Spanish giants, Team Heretics overcame Sumn FC in a BO5 Grand finale where loWel and his men sent the British roster packing from the tournament. This grand finale win also secured them with a lion’s share of $40,000 USD from the prize pool. After seeing off G2 Esports led by Oscar “mixwell” Cañellas in the Semi-finals, they set up their grand finale match up with an org-less team, Sumn FC.

The grand finals saw these two teams lock horns in a Best of 5 affairs. Heretics started off on their Map Pick Ascent where they did only concede 1 round against the English Men. Despite looking destitute and listless, Sumn FC did bounce back on Icebox where they led by 2 rounds in the first half. With a little room for errors, Sumn FC was able to wind up the map in a fashionable manner with a scoreline of 13-7. But Sumn FC wasn’t able to carry forward this momentum as their opponents were far too hot for them to handle as Heretics went on to take a 2-1 lead in the series after they created havoc on Haven which saw them shut down the map 13-5.

The decider map Bind for Heretics was closely contested by both sides as they were tied 11-11 before the Spanish side double faked and executed an A site hit which steered them to a nail-biting finish and clinches Valorant First Strike title in Europe.
