It’s been a year since Riot launched its First-person tactical shooter, Valorant previously dubbed as the ‘Project A’. There lies no doubt that Valorant has lured away from its rival CSGO’s player base where a plethora of professionals made their switch to the former game. Just a few months after the launch, teams like Cloud9, 100 Thieves, G2 Esports were seen assembling rosters for their newly created Valorant divisions. Tyson “TenZ” Ngo, Oscar “Mixwell” Cañellas were among the likes of those who quickly found themselves on a team due to their illustrious career at Counter Strike.
Today we have penned down the best players from the Valorant scene and the list is as follows:
Shahzeb “ShahZaM” Khan
Team: Sentinels
Region: North America
ShahZaM before making his switch to Valorant was a professional CSGO player who played for reputable teams like Complexity and Cloud9. Under Complexity, he was able to secure his team their first-ever playoff spot at the FACEIT CSGO London Major held in 2018. Later in 2019, he was placed on the bench, and the following year in April, he joined Sentinels Valorant. Under Sentinels, ShahZaM and co have been on a dream run, winning the VCT Stage 1 Masters with most recently, they qualified for the VCT Stage 2 Masters as well, to be held in Iceland.
Tyson ‘TenZ’ Ngo
Team: Sentinels
Region: North America
The 20-year-old quickly rose to dominance when he was first picked by Cloud9 CSGO. Known for his mechanical aim and a great mind for the game, Tyson decided to transition as a content creator for Cloud9 before he signed up for the latter’s Valorant division as their first professional player. After a series of mixed results with Cloud9 Blue, he yet again decided to take up streaming as his career before joining Sentinels on loan replacing Jay “sinatraa” Won. The signing of Tyson worked like a charm for the team as Sentinels went on to win the VCT Stage 1 Masters event.
Adil “ScreaM” Benrlitom
Team: Team Liquid
Region: Europe
Notably known as the “Headshot Machine” in the CSGO community because of his stupendous aiming power, ScreaM decided to venture into Valorant in a bid for a fresh start and joined Team Liquid in August 2020. With ScreaM on board, Team Liquid were able to book themselves a spot at the VCT Stage 2 Masters after they came out on top in the recently concluded VCT’s EMEA Regional Finals.
Michael ‘Poiz’ Possis
Team: Cloud9 Blue
Region: North America
Known for his trampling game-play in Valorant’s ranked mode, Poiz was handed a massive breakthrough in his career by signing up with Cloud9 for their Valorant Blue division. Back then when he played by the IGN, “DOINKMACHINE97”, he placed second on the North American Leaderboard in October 2020 followed by his first-ever #1 finish on the same in the very next month.
