If you’ve been following TalkEsport for a while, you’re probably aware of the issues Valorant fans have been facing when attempting to purchase from the Valorant store using Paytm.
In fact, the Paytm payment method was removed from the Valorant store last week without any prior notice. This move caught the Indian Valorant community by surprise but Riot reassured fans that Paytm would be returning soon.
For the unaware, Paytm is an Indian e-commerce payment system that’s prevalent across the South Asian country as one of the most popular virtual payment methods.
Paytm was originally introduced as a payment method in Valorant back in October 2020 after repeated demands from the Indian Valorant community.
Luckily, for the Indian Valorant players who are unable to purchase VP using Paytm, Riot Games has enabled UPI payments in the Valorant store following a recent update.
“UPI payment option is now live for players in India,” the official Valorant South Asia Twitter handle posted. “We’ll keep you posted on updates around the PayTM option.”
While the exact date of return of the Paytm payment option is still unclear, Indian Valorant players now have a viable alternative to purchase VP and cosmetics from the Valorant store.
Previously, Indian players had to resort to third-party services like PayPal to make purchases in the Valorant store using other payment methods.
