Is Bounty Hunter better than Sova?
Bounty Hunter may not be better than Sova, but it sure provides Initiator players with a brand new option to gather intel.
Viper’s voice note to Brimstone regarding the mysterious blackmailer carried a tone of doubts about Sova’s skillset. The controller agent and second in command seemed to doubt Sova’s ability to track down this agent. Even Cypher failed to garner much information except the location, which trailed them to Turkey. So, both the info-brokers struggled against Bounty Hunter, which implied that the upcoming agent might be better than the rest.
However, now that the kit is out in the open, players can analyze whether that’s actually the case. The Valorant agent 20 kit sure seems promising, but it doesn’t seem to outsmart Sova’s by any stretch. Their tools are actually pretty similar to Sova’s tagging dart, with the addition of near sighting equipment. Their Q and C abilities, however, seem deadly. These two powers mix Raze’s car and Skye’s dog, which makes this agent maybe a tad bit deadlier than Sova.
On paper, Bounty Hunter appears to be a balanced agent who may not shake up the meta like previous additions. However, it is yet to be seen how they plays out in practice. Players will have to wait till April 26 to take Bounty Hunter on a spin.
