Valorant Champions 2024 Live: Teams, Schedule, Format, and Prize Pool

Your Ultimate Guide to the Valorant Champions 2024

The VALORANT Champions Tours have had global showdowns with the 2024 one being no exception. This year’s championship is set to be held between the world’s top VALORANT teams, with Seoul, South Korea – serving as the center stage for all the action.

From August 1st to 25th, the best of the best will be battling against each other for the ultimate title with the tournament split into the COEX Atrium in Seoul and the INSPIRE Arena in Incheon, where the latter is capable of hosting a staggering 15,000 fans.

Given the atmosphere at events like VCT Masters Shanghai, expectations for packed houses are high more than ever this year.

The first phase is the group stage where one team from each region will be selected, with the best of three style selections. Each group will have double bracket formats and the teams to drop two matches will be eliminated.

The losers will battle it out in the lower brackets, where winners will move on to the decider match, where they can get a chance to move to the playoffs.

There will also be a draw once each group has gone through the rigorous winner’s finale matches and the decider matches. This is where the playoffs come into the picture, where they will be played in a best-of-3 format until the lower bracket finale and the Grand finale.

The Lower bracket and the grand finale will be played as best-of-five series matches. While the best of 3 series sounds like low effort in such later stages of the tournament, this is due to the playoffs being double elimination rounds which already provide wild card opportunities for the teams that ended up stumbling in the earlier stages of the tournament.

And for global audiences like you, the tournament will be streamed in multiple languages, including fan favorites like Japanese, French, and even Hindi!

History of the Valorant Champions till now

The tournament has a track record of three consecutive iterations so far, ever since the game’s initial launch on June 2, 2020.

Riot initially used a gradual development process for Valorant when it launched with privately organized events where select teams were invited to kick the tournament / pro-esports scene off before moving on to joint venture events like the First Strike, VCT, and even the four partnership leagues.

Team Acend lifted the very first trophy in 2022, after which the next cup went into the hands of LOUD in 2022. During the 2023 tournament, Evil Geniuses were the most recent team to get their hands on the trophy.
