Good news for Indian Valorant fans, as recent reports are suggesting that Riot Games might be considering a slot for India at the Valorant Champions Tour.
The report by IGN India states that Riot is considering giving an Indian team a slot at the Valorant Champions Tour through the conduction of a nationwide tournament.
While fans have been complaining about Riot ignoring the Indian Valorant scene for quite a while now, this potential move has certainly brought a smile to the faces of most Valorant fans of South Asia.
However, this decision shouldn’t come as that much of a surprise. Indian Valorant teams have repeatedly proven their skills at the shooter and have managed to compete at the highest levels of the Asian Valorant scene. In fact, taking a glance at the VLR.GG rankings reveal Team Mahi and Global Esports being among the top 15 teams in the APAC region.

According to the report, sources have claimed that the reason behind Riot keeping a low profile in India, despite having claimed to be thrilled at the South Asian response to Valorant, is the existing ban on the Chinese company Tencent. With Tencent owning 100% share of Riot Games, any attention they draw towards them might result in Valorant being banned from the country entirely.
