With more than a month since the launch of Valorant Console’s closed beta, Riot Games has now initiated the open beta phase for the console version of the shooter.
The initial announcement of the console port of Valorant came as a pleasant surprise to the FPS gaming community on June 7, 2024, when Riot unveiled the start of Valorant Console closed beta. Since then, the title has received a number of important updates to both the PC and the console versions, and it seems that the devs are ready to further expand the player base by opening up the beta to a wider audience.
Moving forward, console gamers will be able to download and play Valorant on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. If the game is still unavailable in your region, you may have to wishlist the game and wait for its official launch.
The global release of Valorant Console is expected to take place by the end of 2024.
Valorant’s Open Beta will allow PlayStation and Xbox players to compete against each other but will maintain distinct matchmaking from PC players to protect competitive integrity. Progress, such as Battle Pass advancement, Agent unlocks, and purchased skins, will be shared across both console platforms and PC.
