What is CT in Valorant?

It has been over a year since Riot Games’ competitive shooter Valorant was initially released, but it still continues to grow to this day. With an increasing player count, more and more new players are joining the title, and they are often confused by some of the callouts in Valorant. Let’s take a look at some of the callouts that new Valorant players may find confusing.

Valorant is, in a number of ways, similar to Valve’s shooter Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, which was originally released in 2012. Due to the fact that it was released much earlier than Valorant, which is relatively new to the competitive FPS scene, players of the former have carried over a bunch of things to the latter that new Valorant players aren’t aware of.

The ‘CT’ and ‘T’ callouts are prime examples of this. Both of these callouts were carried over by CSGO players to Valorant, and aren’t from Valorant itself. Let’s take a look at what these callouts mean.

What Does CT mean in Valorant?

Similar to ‘Attackers’ and Defenders’ in Valorant, there are two teams ‘Counter-Terrorists’ and ‘Terrorists’ in CSGO, which are often abbreviated to ‘CT’ and ‘T’. The locations on a map where the Terrorists and Counter-Terrorists spawn are named as T-Spawn and CT-Spawn respectively, which are also called ‘T’ and ‘CT’ in short.

Likewise, in Valorant, the Attackers’ spawn and Defenders’ spawn are often called out as ‘T’ and ‘CT’ for the above-mentioned reasons.

Besides, there’s no specific callout for these locations, so ‘CT’ and ‘T’ are most commonly used since they’re short, simple and precise.
