Riot Games has recently announced several major changes to the Valorant Game Changers (GC) ecosystem, aimed at providing more opportunities for GC players to advance to higher tiers within the Valorant Champions Tour.
The changes introduced as part of Riot’s new policy are expected to help Game Changers players reach the Challengers League and the International Leagues by paving a more direct path and easing their transition.
Let’s check out all the new changes Riot Games has announced for the Valorant Game Changers ecosystem.
All Changes To The Valorant Game Changers Ecosystem
- Premier: The first change in the list is an important change to the Premier game mode of Valorant that will help the Game Changers team participate in both the Premier matches and Game Changers events. GC teams that meet specific ranked criteria in Premier will be directly promoted to the invite division. Additionally, if any scheduling conflicts arise between Game Changers events and Premier games, GC teams will receive a bye for regular season matches.
- Regional Qualifiers: Teams that earn a spot in the Game Changers Championship, the annual world championship event for Game Changers, will automatically be invited to their region’s Challengers qualifier. On top of that, this year’s Game Changers Championship will expand from eight to ten teams.
- No Transfer Restrictions: Game Changers pros can now simultaneously compete for GC and collegiate teams, and be signed by Challengers or International League teams without restrictions.
Mixed-Gender Tournaments: Riot has announced that the upcoming 2024 OFF//SEASON events will focus on exploring more mixed-gender tournaments.
