In a blog post released on January 27th, the developers behind Valorant have informed fans about their upcoming plans regarding the competitive shooter. These plans include a number of changes to the ranking system and Valorant’s anti-cheat, Vanguard.
While Riot has confirmed that they’re working on a number of improvements for the anti-cheat system, the change that fans are perhaps looking forward to the most is the 90-day penalty for players who get boosted by playing with cheaters.
“Analytics, data science, and technical improvements of Vanguard are all part of this battle,” Riot said in the blog. “One of the first new efforts is to discipline players who queue with cheaters, or as we can colloquially call it, ‘ride the cheat bus on the highway to hell.’”
As confirmed by the devs, Valorant will soon introduce 90-day penalties for “bussing” players who get boosted through the competitive spectrum by unfair means.
Some other highly anticipated upcoming changes include calibration changes that will “ set a cap on the highest rank you reach in placements.” The speed of players’ rank progressions till Radiant will also be reduced.
