The competitive game mode in VALORANT, also known as Ranked, assigns players with ranks and Rank Ratings based on their skills. The purpose of having a competitive or Ranked mode is to provide players with the opportunity to face opponents of similar skill which makes every match a close affair on paper.
In the past, VALORANT had a total of 22 ranks but Riot Games has recently introduced a fresh tier called Ascendant which makes a grand total of 25 ranks. The highest rank i.e. Radiant can be achieved only by the top 500 players of the region.
