Battle of Gods goes one-sided as Gods Reign defeat Godlike 2-1 in VCL SA 2023 Split 2

GodLike changed one of their players and showed some massive improvement and clutched out a map. But God’s Reign seem to have proved that they are the better God, once again in VCL SA Split 2.

Godlike Esports Roster and Lineup

The roster of Godlike Esports consisted of Tejas “Rexy” Kotian as the IGL, Norbu “Karam1L” Tsering, Shakir “hikkA” Razak, Franz “Astro” del Rosario and Jude Patrick “Zey” Gunhuran. They added a new player to their team; Jayesh “Kibo” Negi.

God’s Reign Esports Roster and Lineup

The 6-man roster of God’s Reign consists of Vibhor “Vibhor” Vaid as IGL, Garvit “Ember” Nehra, Aman “Hoax” Yadav, Nick “tixx” Quinn, Kale “autumn” Dunne, and Simar “psy” Sethi.

Map Veto and Selection

Bind was banned by God’s Reign and Pearl was banned by Godlike. Haven was then picked by God’s Reign and GodL picked Ascent. Split and Lotus were banned, making Fracture the deciding map.

Haven was kickstarted with GDR winning the pistol round as well as the anti-eco round, but lost the bonus round. GDL managed to win 3 rounds in a row, but GDR got their flow back again as they finished the half in their favor at 7-5.

The second pistol was won by GDR, along with the anti-eco round, as well as the bonus round, leading 10-5. GDR managed to close the map at 13-6, not giving GDL any room to breathe. They only dropped one round in the entire second half.

On Ascent, GDR again won the pistol round as well as the anti-eco round and lost the bonus to GDL. Round 4 saw a triple kill by Autumn, Giving GDR the 3-1 lead. Round 5 was a thrifty win by GDL, as Kibo got three amazing kills on his sheriff. Round 6 saw another thrifty win, this time it was GDR, thanks to a quad kill by Psydreams’ Sheriff. Round 7 was a chaotic one, as GDL threw away a 5v3 advantage to a 1v2, but Kibo managed to clutch it out to secure the win for them. The half ended at 6-6.

The pistol was yet again won by GDR, followed by the anti-eco win. They lost their bonus, thanks to Astro’s triple kill. The following rounds went neck-to-neck, as they equalized scores on 10-10 again. And in an amazing turn of events, GDL managed to close the map at 13-11. 

Fracture started by GDR winning the pistol round, again as well as the anti-eco round. They managed to win the bonus round as well, leading 3-0. Round 4 was a thrifty win by GDL as Zey got an amazing Ace on Killjoy. GDR managed to win continuous rounds again, till round 9 where Kibo broke their momentum with a triple kill. Still, GDR managed to dominate the half with a 9-3 score. 

GDR won the pistol yet again, as well as the anti-eco. They lost the bonus, making the score 11-4. Round 17 was a quad-kill by Rexy to win the round for GDL. Round 19 was won by GDR, thanks to Psydreams’ 4k clutch on Skye. GDR managed to close the map at 13-7.
