Match Recap
On Ascent, VLT started off strong as they won the pistol round with Hellf’s quad kill. GDR decided to force the next round, still falling prey to VLT’s strong defense. VLT led 4-0 until Hoax’s triple kills got GDR their first round. GDR managed to get their score up to 4-5, but VLT managed to close the half at 8-4.
GDR hit it off in the second half at first, winning the pistol round with Autumn’s quad kills and anti-eco with Autumn’s triple kills. After their loss in bonus, VLT caught momentum as they finished the map at 13-6, not giving God’s Reign any more rounds to work with.
Pearl started with VLT dominating again, winning the pistol round and anti-eco round, with Doma getting triple kills in the latter. VLT won their bonus round as well, pushing the scoreline to as far as 5-0, with Excali getting a 4k in round 4. Round 6 went in the favor of GDR even though they had a broken buy. Round 7 saw a 1 vs 3 clutch by Psydreams, on utterly low hp, getting him a quad kill. GDR managed to bring back the score to 6-6 to end the first half, thanks to another 1v2 clutch by Psydreams in round 11.
VLT won the pistol round again, as well as the anti-eco. After losing the bonus, VLT went on to lose 5 rounds in a row, making the scoreline 11-8. VLT tried to equalize the score again but failed to finish the map, making GDR the winner of map 2, at 13-11.
After defeating each other at opposite map picks, Lotus was the last map to be played. GDR won the pistol and the anti-eco round with Vibhorr’s 4k, losing the bonus to Amaterasu’s 3k on Killjoy. Round 4 went to GDR and Psydreams managed to clutch it again, this time a 1 vs 3 situation to defuse the spike in time. This time the scores went close as 3-3, 4-4, but eventually GDR managed to close the half with their advantage of 7-5.
GDR won the pistol round again, alongside the anti-eco round with Psydreams’ 4k. In Round 18, VLT managed to clutch a 3v5 situation, with Doma getting a triple kill, bringing the score to 8-10. Round 23 saw a broken buy win by GDR, getting them the map at 13-10.
Psydreams seemed to be the MVP with his insane clutches and an impressive KDA of 58/42/22 in three maps on Sova and Skye.
With this Velocity’s running in Split 1 of VCL SA comes to an end and God’s Reign proceeds further, meeting Aster Army in their next matchup.
