Orangutan beats Aster 2-0 to become the first finalist of VCL SA Split 2

Orangutan continued their winning streak as they win the upper bracket finals against Aster Army and qualified for the Grand Finals.

Aster Army Roster and Lineup

The Aster Army roster consists of Hrishikesh “DominiK” Khedkar as IGL, Soumyadeep “DOXZ3R” Dey, Ngô “Kishi” Huy, Pranav “Kohliii” Kohli, Lee “Wink” Zhen Yong and Sami “SSSami” Ar Rahman (Sub).

Orangutan Esports is a team of skilled players led by Sabyasachi “Antidote” Bose as IGL, Akram “Rawfiul” Virani, Rishi “RvK” Vijayakumar, Azis “azys” Nandang, Jm “tesseract” Ignacio, and Rajiv “LeVi” Satpute (Sub).

Map Veto and Selection

Orangutan banned Lotus and Aster Army banned Haven. Orangutan picked Ascent and Aster Army picked Pearl. Orangutan banned Fracture, Aster Army banned Split and Bind remained as the deciding map.

Match Recap

Ascent started with OG’s dominance as OG won 4 rounds in a row. Round 7 was a 1v2 clutch by Antidote as OG led 6-1. Round 9 was AA’s round as Kohli got a triple kill. AA finished the half at 4-8 with Doxzer’s 3k. 

AA won the second pistol as well as the anti-eco round. They lost the bonus round as Rawfiul got a triple kill. Round 18 saw a quad kill by Azys to help OG win the round to lead 10-8. Rawfiul got a quad kill in the last round to close the map at 13-8.

OG won the pistol on Pearl as well as the anti-eco round. AA won the full buy round and the round after with Kishi’s 3k. After winning 3 rounds in a row by AA, round 6 saw an Ace by Azys to equalize the score at 3-3. OG finished the half at 8-4.

AA won the pistol as well as the anti-eco but lost the bonus as Rawfiul got a quad kill. Round 16 was won by AA as Azys got a triple kill. Round 19 saw a 2v4 clutch by OG to put them at series point 12-7. OG finished the series at 13-9, becoming the first finalists of VCL SA Split 2.

Azys was the MVP with an ACS of 307 on two maps.
