Orangutan defeat Reckoning again in VCL SA Split 2

After defeating Reckoning in the Semi-Finals of Split 1 of VCL SA, Orangutan goes 2-0 in defeating them yet again in Split 2.

Reckoning Esports had a talented lineup of Harsh “Harshhh” Arora as IGL, Saksham “Deadly10” Aurangabadkar, Jit “Tryst” Dutta, Daniil “flabben” Merzlyakov, Aleksandr “hvoya” Eremin and  Varun “Mast3r” Menon.

Orangutan Esports is a team of skilled players led by Sabyasachi “Antidote” Bose as IGL, Akram “Rawfiul” Virani, Rishi “RvK” Vijayakumar, Azis “azys” Nandang, Jm “tesseract” Ignacio, and Rajiv “LeVi” Satpute (Sub).

Map Veto and Selection

Lotus was banned by OG while Split was banned by Reckoning. OG selected Haven and RGE selected Fracture. Ascent and Bind were banned, making Pearl the deciding map.

Match Recap

On Haven, OG started by winning the pistol round.  rGE almost won their eco round as Flabben got triple kills but Azys won the last 1v1. Round 3 was won by RGE as Hvoya got an amazing quad-kill. Round 5 was a thrifty win for OG as they invested two ultimates to secure the round. Even though Rawfiul got a quad kill in Round 8, OG couldn’t secure the round, bringing the score to 3-5 in OG’s favor. Round 11 was played by Tesseract phenomenally as he clutched a 1v4 clutch to get the score upto 7-4. OG finished the half at 8-4. 

OG won the pistol round again as well as the anti-eco round. They lost their bonus round, bringing the score upto 10-5. Round 16 was won by RGE as Deadly got a triple kill and managed to overturn their disadvantage of a 3v5. Round 17 was a thrifty win by OG as Azys got a triple kill. OG managed to close out the map at 13-8.

Fracture started with OG winning the pistol round yet again, with Azys getting a triple kill on Raze. They won the anti-eco as well but lost the bonus round. OG won three rounds in a row, leading 5-2. Round 11 was an almost ace by Azys, but had to stay content with a quad kill bringing the score to 8-3. Round 12 was a 1v2 clutch win by Tesseract to close the half at 9-3. 

RGE won their first pistol round as well as the anti-eco round. They lost their bonus round as well and then proceeded to close the map at 13-6.

Azys was awarded the MVP as he dropped a 309 ACS.
