VCT Stage 2 Europe: All you need to know about Challengers 1 closed qualifier

The open qualifier event for Valorant Champions Tour’s Stage 2 Challengers 1 in Europe has concluded and we have our top 8 teams from the qualifier who have progressed onto the closed qualifier event, scheduled to be held from April 6-9.

  • Acend
  • Opportunists
  • FunPlus Phoenix Esports
  • Alliance
  • Team Vitality
  • Guild Esports
  • Ninjas in Pyjamas
  • Team Heretics

The open qualifier in Europe saw a couple of S-tier teams that were unable to qualify for the next stage i.e the Challengers event as the former is deemed to be brutal, featuring back-to-back matches right from the RO128. Fnatic, G2 Esports, and Team Liquid were among those who weren’t able to progress through their brackets despite having top-notch squads. Teams like Alliance, Guild, and Opportunists surprisingly rose to dominance and eventually qualified for the Challengers in a flawless shot.

The European Challengers 1 event is already underway with the fixtures already determined by the event organizer which have been attached below.

  • Acend Vs Ninjas In Pyjamas
  • Guild Esports Vs Alliance
  • Team Heretics Vs Opportunists
  • FPX Esports Vs Team Vitality

Unlike the Challengers 1 event in North America, teams in Europe won’t be bearing a chance to go through a double-elimination bracket, which means a single BO3 would decide their fate in the competition. The top 2 teams qualify for the Challengers Final event while the ones eliminated would have to re-enter via the Challengers 2 event, an open qualifier event just like the first iteration of the same.
