Velocity Gaming Outshines God’s Reign on Day 2 of VCL SA

Day 2 of the VCL South Asia saw the highly anticipated match between Velocity Gaming and God’s Reign, two of the top esports teams. Velocity Gaming’s recent addition of two international players to their roster had made them a force to be reckoned with.

God’s Reign’s roster consisted of Vibhor “Vibhor” Vaid as the In-Game Leader (IGL), Garvit “Ember” Nehra, Aman “Hoax” Yadav, Nick “tixx” Quinn, Kale “autumn” Dunne, and Simar “psy” Sethi (Sub). The team added two Australian prodigies to their roster for their debut in the VCL.

Velocity Gaming’s roster consisted of star-studded players like Sagnik “Hellff” Roy, Debanjan “DEATHMAKER” Das, Karan “Excali” Mhaswadkar, Domagoj “Doma” Fancev, Adam “ec1s” Eccles, and Anuj “Amaterasu” Sharma (Sub). Doma and ec1s, the imported talents who’ve played for reputed international esports organizations like Fnatic and 100 Thieves, were the ones to watch out for.

Map Veto and Selection

In the veto, Velocity Gaming and God’s Reign banned Lotus and Fracture, respectively. Vlt picked Haven while God’s Reign chose Pearl. They banned Ascent and Icebox, leaving Split as the last map standing.

Match Recap

On the first map of Haven, Velocity Gaming took an early 6-1 lead, but God’s Reign managed to come back and end the half with a 7-5 lead. With a score of 11-6, Velocity once again displayed their aggressive gameplay, but God’s Reign attempted to turn the tide in their favor. The final score of the game was a close 13-11 in favor of Velocity Gaming. Ec1s received the MVP award due to his impressive 268 ACS on Breach.

On the second map, Pearl, the first half was a close contest of 5-7 in favor of God’s Reign. The second half was equally competitive, with the score tied at 11-11. Eventually, Velocity Gaming secured the victory with a score of 13-11.

Velocity Gaming proved themselves to be a formidable team by defeating God’s Reign in two nail-biting matches. With the addition of two international players, they have become a force to be reckoned with in the VCL South Asia league.
