Vici gaming captain Fade decides to retire from the competitive scene

Vici gaming’s captain Pan “Fade” Yi decides to publicly announce his retirement from the competitive scene altogether through his social media account. He points out the mental breakdown that all competitive players face post-TI roster shuffle season.

Vici gaming had an impressive run in the second half of the DPC season winning a minor and a major. As well as the first ever team to two consecutive majors, that is Dreamleague Season 11 and EPICENTER. At the end of the group stage at TI9, Vici Gaming performed well and finish at second position. In the play-offs, however, they faced PSG.LGD and lost after that they had to battle it out in order to survive but unfortunately Team Secret in the Lower bracket match managed to knock Vici Gaming out of the tournament. Vici Gaming concluded their run with a top 6 finish at The International.

Just two days after The International Nine ended, Fade via. His Weibo account publicly announced his retirement.

Fade’s post translates as follows:

“I will retire and hope that marks that end of the drama. I’m tired of being at the center of the storm. Playing competitively for all these years, I’ve made many mistakes but also had many happy memories. I think I’ve disappointed you guys too many times. Let’s end it right here, I will go back to being a normal guy who can enjoy Dota in a simpler way.”

Fade feels like he has let down alot of the fans but also mentions that he has some happy memories during his competitive run.
