Video showing FaZe Dubs cheating in Cash Cup finals surfaces

Dubs has managed to get himself in the midst of yet another controversy which can potentially cost him a ban.

Controversies seem to be tailing Daniel “Dubs” Paul Walsh these days as only weeks after returning to Fortnite, he has managed to get himself in trouble once again. The Fortnite star playing for FaZe clan has allegedly teamed up with another player during the Cash Cup finals on May 1st.

A video had recently been brought to light by Twitter user Leaffr on the platform which provides evidence hinting towards Dubs breaching the official rules by teaming up in a solo tournament. The video, which was later deleted, put forward several points which could almost conclusively prove that Dubs was indeed teaming with another player with the username “waffleslul”.

For starters, both Dubs and waffleslul landed all six times at the Rig and followed specific patterns to move through the map so as to not engage in combat with one another. Both of them also focused on killing any other player that landed nearby while not killing themselves. They also took turns to coordinate looting the “Vault” to get an advantage in the game. Moreover, waffles and Dubs were also seen playing as a duo in the Contender Cup just the day before. All these incidents put together are too much to be considered as simple coincidences and directly hint towards them teaming up and thus, cheating.

However, it was not before long that the video got taken down by Leaffr. He also tweeted a statement clarifying why he had taken down the video.

In his statement he claimed that he didn’t thoroughly check all the replays before making the video and that the last clip in the video was “in a custom” which he didn’t realise while making the video.

He added, “Personally I think you should watch the replays yourselves and decide if what they are doing is wrong.”

Some people were clearly unhappy about Leaffr’s decision to take down the video.

Teaming up in solo tournaments has always been a recurring problem for battle royales like Fortnite. Epic Games also had to come up with specific rules against teaming up and have previously handed out temporary bans to its players teaming up in tournaments. However, Epic hasn’t made any comment regarding the Dubs incident yet but a response can be hoped soon.
