Esports has always been about the legendary plays and players who reach to the top and deliver pinnacle performances which are etched down in the history of competitive esports. This experience always gets better when we see the fans who pour down their heart and cheer for their favourite teams and support them.
Traditional sports has a fanbase who support their team as a family. They cry over their loss and share tears of joy when their team or favourite player rises to the top. This beautiful culture is also observed in esports globally. With stadiums packed to watch the best of the teams compete to their highest calibre, fans rise up the bars with their cheers and support.
India is flourishing in the esports scene and fans here, are starting to show the same affection towards professional gamers as they show towards other sportspersons. The multimillion-dollar industry is rising and esports athletes are getting recognition.
Recently Sid Joshi, the manager of TSM-Entity, shared a video on his Facebook account. The video starred the team’s fans holding banners to show support and love for the team.
Sid stated that their fans tracked down the location of the Team’s bootcamp from various social media posts and got there. They were standing outside for several hours hoping for someone to show up in the boot camp’s balcony.
When he noticed them, they hurled the banners in the sky, and their faces revealed the joy of being noticed. He quickly captured this and shared it on Facebook. Sid Joshi also felt overwhelmed by this as he says “I literally cannot explain how I feel in words right now”.
Some while back, a similar incident was shared by Abhijeet “Ghatak” Andhare. He explained how a fan was trying to contact him for sending sweets during the month of Ramadan. He later dropped some ‘sheer khurma’, a cultural delicacy, for the team to celebrate this holy festival.
Such incidents show how much the teams mean for their fans. Such support always helps teams push forward.TSM-Entity recently won PUBG Mobile India Series but are having a rough patch recently and this will certainly cheer them up to push harder in the ongoing PUBG Mobile World League.
