Riot Games has released the next patch notes 2.4B for the League of Legends: Wild Rift. This Wild Rift patch 2.4B comes under the major patch 2.4 and the new contents will be downloaded directly in-game. The new patch notes are here with the addition of two new champions Brand and Nunu & Willump. Some major champions have been buffed and nerfed along with some items adjustment. Read our complete article to know the detailed changes in the new Wild Rift update.

WILD RIFT NEW CHAMPIONS

BRAND, THE BURNING VENGEANCE

Once a tribesman of the icy Freljord named Kegan Rodhe, the creature known as Brand is a lesson in the temptation of greater power. Seeking one of the legendary World Runes, Kegan betrayed his companions and seized it for himself—and, in an instant, the man was no more. His soul burned away, his body a vessel of living flame, Brand now roams Valoran in search of other Runes, swearing revenge for wrongs he could not have suffered in a dozen mortal lifetimes.

Brand will be released on September 9 at 00:01 UTC.

NUNU & WILLUMP, THE BOY AND HIS YETI

Once upon a time, there was a boy who wanted to prove he was a hero by slaying a fearsome monster—only to discover that the beast, a lonely and magical yeti, merely needed a friend. Bound together by ancient power and a shared love of snowballs, Nunu and Willump now ramble wildly across the Freljord, breathing life into imagined adventures. They hope that somewhere out there, they will find Nunu’s mother. If they can save her, maybe they will be heroes after all…

Nunu & Willump will be released on September 9 at 00:01 UTC.

CHAMPION CHANGES

AHRI

The Ninetailed Fox is getting a small bugfix that will affect her power levels slightly, but don’t get your tails in a bunch. We don’t expect her to need compensation due to some other items being shifted.

  • FOX-FIRE
    • [BUGFIX] Movement speed will now properly decay over time

AKALI

Akali is performing too well in the Baron lane. We’re taking some of the power out of her passive to make it more difficult for her to secure a lead in the laning phase, and harder for her to chase down enemies later in the game. A ninja should be challenged.

  • ASSASSIN’S MARK
    • Movement speed: 50% → 30%
    • Base damage: 40-180 → 28-140

AKSHAN

Akshan is currently all bark and no bite, particularly with crit builds. We’re bringing up his baseline damage output and giving him some crit scaling to help out his late game.

  • AVENGERANG
    • Base damage: 5/30/55/80 → 5/35/65/95
  • HEROIC SWING
    • [NEW] Shots can now critically strike for 150% damage
  • COMEUPPANCE
    • [NEW] Damage per tick is increased by crit chance, up to 50% at 100% crit: (20/25/30 + 12.5% AD) x (1 + 50% Critical Rate) – (80/100/120 + 50% AD) x (1 + 50% Critical Rate)

GRAGAS

Gragas is causing too much of a ruckus on the Wild Rift, particularly at the highest levels of play. We’re toning down some of the utility and power that he has in abundance, giving his opponents some windows to play around.

  • BASE STATS
    • Armor per level: 4.7 → 4.3 (106 at level 15 → 101 at level 15)
  • BARREL ROLL
    • Base damage: 80/130/180/230 → 65/120/175/230
    • Slow: 40/45/50/55% → 30/35/40/45%
  • DRUNKEN RAGE
    • Cooldown: 4.5s → 5s

KATARINA

Katarina’s ability to shrug off damage coupled with her reliable mobility and strong damage output has been a source of frustration for opposing midlaners. We’re reducing her base health to make the Sinister Blade more vulnerable in the early laning phase.

  • BASE STATS
    • Base health: 650 → 570

KENNEN

The Heart of the Tempest is too soft and in need of a jolt. We’re giving him a few small bonuses to charge up his laning power. This should electrify Kennen’s presence in the Baron lane.

  • THUNDERING SHURIKEN
    • Base damage: 75/130/185/240 → 85/140/195/250
  • ELECTRICAL SURGE
    • On-hit bonus damage: 10/20/30/40 + 60% Bonus AD + 20% AP → 25/35/45/55 + 70/80/90/100% Bonus AD + 25%AP
  • LIGHTNING RUSH
    • Bonus attack speed: 40/50/60/70% → 50/60/70/80%

KHA’ZIX

The Void Reaver is too dominant of a predator. Besides his high damage, he’s too healthy when it comes time to gank his prey. We’re reducing Kha’zix’s healing and bringing down (1) Taste Their Fear’s damage. These changes should make his ganks slightly riskier and even the playing field for his victims.

  • BASE STATS
    • Base health regen 9 → 7.5
  • TASTE THEIR FEAR
    • Base damage: 60/95/130/165 → 50/85/120/155
  • VOID SPIKE
    • Healing: 55/90/125/160 → 40/75/110/145

MASTER YI

Master Yi has been overperforming with his recent buffs and his synergy with new items (like Navori Quickblades) is too strong. We’re pulling back on some of the power he gained from Patch 2.4a to ensure the Wuju Blademaster fights fairly.

  • BASE STATS
    • Health per level: 115 → 105
  • WUJU STYLE
    • Bonus true damage: 25/40/55/70 → 22/34/46/58
  • HIGHLANDER
    • Cooldown: 75/60/45s → 80/70/60s

RAKAN

Rakan and Xayah are truly a power couple in the Dragon Lane; however, the Charmer’s (3) Battle Dance has been providing Xayah with too much safety. To reduce frustration around this interaction, we’re lowering the bonus shield multiplier on Battle Dance when cast on Xayah and giving Rakan some buffs to keep him in line with other supports.

  • GRAND ENTRANCE
    • Base damage: 70/140/210/280 → 80/150/220/290
  • BATTLE DANCE
    • Bonus shield amount when cast on Xayah: 200% → 125%
  • THE QUICKNESS
    • Movement speed: 50& → 60%

SORAKA

The Starchild interfered with too many mortal affairs since her recent buff without risking enough. We’re tuning her down a bit so she thinks twice about rushing in to save her allies.

  • STARCALL
    • Rejuvenation buff duration on self: 4s → 2s
    • Rejuvenation total heal: 72/90/108/126 + 45%AP → 50/70/90/110 + 35%AP
  • ASTRAL INFUSION
    • Rejuvenation buff duration for ally: 4s → 2s

THRESH

While Thresh is a high-skill cap champion, his power levels upon release left something to be desired. We’re increasing the base soul drop rate and reducing (3) Flay’s charge time to compensate for Wild Rift’s faster pace and shorter gametime.

  • BASE STATS
    • Base health: 570 to 610
    • Base health regen: 7.5 to 11
  • DAMNATION
    • Base soul drop rate: 33% → 40% (Bad luck protection unchanged)
  • DARK PASSAGE
    • Shield strength: 55/110/165/220 → 65/115/165/215
  • FLAY
    • Passive charge time: 10s → 6s

WUKONG

Despite being a formidable jungler in Wild Rift, Wukong is still struggling to find his place in the Baron lane. We’re removing the healing reduction modifier from (1) Crushing Blow when he uses the skill against minions. This way, the Monkey King can better sustain himself during the laning phase.

  • GOLDEN STAFF
    • [REMOVED] 80% healing reduction modifier when attacking minions

XIN ZHAO

The Seneschal of Demacia has been dominating the WIld Rift jungle in high level play. In order to reduce some of his early game strength, we’re tuning some of Xin Zhao’s base stats.

  • BASE STATS
    • Base armor: 40 → 35
    • Base health: 650 → 610

GAMEPLAY CHANGES

ITEMS

SOLARI CHARGEBLADE

While True Damage was exciting, it meant that Chargeblade was too universal in killing tanks, fighters and squishies alike. We’re sharpening it to be less optimal in the general situation and more optimal when the enemy team has a lot of squishier targets to burst down.

  • Ability haste: 25 → 15
  • Base damage: 26 – 40 True Damage → 24 – 52 Magic Damage
  • Max damage: 65 – 100 True Damage → 60 – 130 Magic Damage

WARMOG’S ARMOR

Following the lead of our PC friends, we’re making Warmog’s Armor’s unique passive trigger off of bonus health instead of max health. This way, players must opt into other health items to access its power.

  • [NEW] Warmog’s Heart trigger condition: 2500 maximum health → 950 bonus health

MAGE ITEMS

We found a few notable balance opportunities when examining mage items. Liandry’s Torment is still too prevalent of a buy on all-AP users, and players who rush Luden’s Echo or Awakened Soulstealer have been underperforming heavily compared to rushing other items. Additionally, the traditional users of Liandry’s Torment were overperforming by a considerable amount. We hope to balance out this pattern with the following changes to the mentioned items:

AWAKENED SOULSTEALER

  • AP: 65 → 70

HAUNTING GUISE

  • Madness: max damage amplification: 10% → 6%
    • Damage amplification per second: 2% → 1.2%

LIANDRY’S TORMENT

  • Madness: max damage amplification: 10% → 6%
    • Damage amplification per second: 2% → 1.2%

LUDEN’S ECHO

  • Ability haste: 10 → 20
  • AP: 80 → 85

RUNES

KEYSTONE: FONT OF LIFE

Font of Life has been a tad strong with high AP builds, so we’re toning it down a bit. This should keep it as a strong choice for support players, while bringing it more in line in the late game for players building high AP.

  • Allied healing AP ratio: 40% → 30%
  • Self healing AP ratio: 20% → 10%
