xQc says Twitch saved everybody by demonetizing Amouranth

Felix Lengyel aka xQc has been one of the most vocal personalities against the “hot tub” meta and has praised Twitch for their decision to demonetize Amouranth.

Amouranth Demonetized

Amouranth’s channel was stripped off the ability to show ads as reported earlier today which directly affects her revenue stream. To take a step against the growing meta, Twitch chose Amouranth to begin with as it will bound to have the greatest impact on Twitch given her massive following on the platform.

Despite being happy that Twitch is cracking down on the “hot tub” streamers, he sided with Amouranth on one point, Twitch has non provided an updated guideline before demonetizing her or at least give her a chance to stir things up to avoid the penalization. He also noted that Amouranth was targetted presumably for her massive following while lesser-known “hot tub” streamers are getting away with it.

“But now that this is against her and she loses her ads, nobody is saying, ‘But what about the other guys? Why aren’t they losing their ads?’”  he said.

Amouranth’s name has a lot of impacts and rightfully so, xQc believes that in the current scenario, she has been painted as a scapegoat that will save others from demonetization by acting as a silent threat on Twitch’s behalf. According to the latest reports, she is the only one to get affected which sends a message for other streamers to quickly mend their ways before they suffer a similar fate.
