Starting out as a Half-Life modification on the Goldsource engine, Counter-Strike 1.6 grew in popularity and became one of the most popular first-person shooters of all time. As a mod of Half-Life, it was released in its beta Phase in June 1999 before being launched in a fully-fledged version.
If we take a look back, playing CS 1.6 on a LAN setup did used to mean a ritual for the FPS enthusiasts as everyone’s passion did scale their epitome of happiness. All you had to do is rush to the gaming café and voila. But after the launch of its successor CS:GO, we did see a turn in the events where most of the community shifted their area of expertise to the former.
Recently some of CS-ONLINE.CLUB’s altruistic minds have provided the community with an altered version of CS 1.6 where you can relive those nostalgic movements with your friends while playing the same on your web browser. You might get to experience a whole different GUI with some asserted mods but the guns along with the maps and game mechanics haven’t been tampered with. Here you won’t need any 3rd party client to download the same unlike the one on Steam. One can easily play this altered version of CS 1.6 on the latest updated browsers like Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox and Microsoft Edge. Just like Krunker, you just need to send a browser invite to your friends to get started.
