Adin Ross TwitchCon Kick Was Due to Ticket Fraud, Twitch CEO Says

Twitch was under fire from the streaming community after popular streamer Adin Ross was kicked out of Twitchcon. While fans have speculated many reasons, Twitch CEO has addressed the issue and revealed why Ross and a few other streamers were escorted out of the event.

Adin Ross has been very vocal about how Kick is a better platform for streaming when compared to Twitch. Given his rocky history with the Amazon-owned streaming platform, it is no secret that Ross has been the most prominent advocate for Kick and has been promoting the relatively new streaming platform everywhere he goes.

Twitchcon being the premier event of Twitch was a very interesting place for him to show up with a Kick T-shirt but he eventually got kicked out, thus sparking the speculations that Twitch may not be as welcoming towards competition as they once announced in light of competition with the Stake backed platform.

To put an end to the speculations, Twitch CEO Dan Clancy revealed

“To provide context, during Twitchcon, [four] individuals purchased TwitchCon tickets wearing T-shirts of a competitor platform. After they were asked by Twitch personnel to leave, their accounts were banned on Twitch. What is your response on this if you have one?”

“It had nothing to do with their t-shirts. Actually, there were a lot of folks inside that had Kick T-shirts — for those who didn’t notice, I ran into someone on the street [and] high-fived him.”

 “They fraudulently obtained the tickets,”

“If you’re permanently banned then you can’t get a ticket so they used false accounts,” Clancy said. “That’s part of the agreement when you get the tickets, that you’re not going to be falsely identifying yourself.”

The CEO has gone on record to reveal that Ross was only kicked out of the event because he got in with tickets that were fraudulently obtained and it had nothing to do with him promoting Kick on Twitch’s annual event.
