Asmongold revealed that he was contacted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation regarding a $30,000 bounty proposed by another Twitch streamer, but he decided not to take any action.
During his stream on November 8, a viewer mentioned they had seen a clip of a ‘streamer offering a $30k bounty’ on him and pointed out that they ‘didn’t get banned.’ In response, Asmon initially said that the person was ‘just joking around.’
After a brief pause, he provided more details, stating, ‘The FBI actually got in touch with me about that.’ Explaining why he chose ‘not to file any charges,’ he added, ‘I rewatched the clip and she clearly wasn’t referring to me, so I thought it was a waste of time.’
While Asmon didn’t name any individuals at first, a viewer later mentioned former Blizzard employee Mark Kern, known as Grummz, as the real target of the bounty, with Twitch streamer Denims humorously offering $30,000 to anyone who could make Grummz ‘vanish.’
Toneman, who initially offered a $20,000 bounty on Grummz, was banned from X/Twitter as a result. ‘She wasn’t talking to me, which is why I didn’t escalate it, even though it might have seemed that way,’ Asmon explained.
Prior to this conversation, Asmon had been discussing the suspension of the Twitch streamer Central Committee after they made comments about YouTube and the content creator Destiny on Kick.
Referring to Destiny, Central Committee, also known as Mike from PA, stated, ‘Holy s**t guys, if you’re in Florida, I have an opportunity for you. If you want to make $100k, let me know.’ While the length of the ban is still uncertain, the Central Committee later admitted that they ‘earned the ban,’ claiming the remark was just a ‘joke.’
Asmongold is no stranger to bans for controversial remarks, having faced a two-week suspension from Twitch last October for his comments about Palestine.
