Kick Creator Program: Everything You Need to Know

The Kick Creator Program, an initiative by the emerging crypto-backed streaming platform, Kick, is creating a buzz in the digital world. With its unique approach to revenue sharing and the promise of an hourly wage for all streamers, it’s challenging the status quo and attracting a significant number of creators from platforms like Twitch.

Tyler “Trainwreck” Niknam, a renowned streamer and advisor for Kick, announced the Kick Creator Program earlier this year. The program is designed to be inclusive, offering all streamers, regardless of their audience size, an hourly wage. This revolutionary approach to compensation is based on the number of hours spent streaming, viewer demographics, engagement, and average viewership.

The Creator Program is simple. You get paid for each hour you stream. A formula will pay each streamer out based on:

A. The number of hours you stream.
B. A flat rate based on Kick’s advertising CPMs (budgeted by us until ads take over).
C. The average viewers you have.
D. Viewer demographics and engagement.

Kick’s commitment to creators extends beyond just an hourly wage. The platform plans to introduce a competitive ad program, rivalling those of Twitch and YouTube. Streamers will also retain a whopping 95% of their subscriber revenue, and 100% of on-site non-third-party donations, further enhancing their earning potential.

Kick’s affinity for cryptocurrency is evident in its payout options. Streamers can choose to receive their earnings in Bitcoin or Ethereum, with same-day payouts. However, those who opt for crypto payouts must wait for a set date to cash out if they choose to use the payment processing platform, Stripe.

Kick’s crypto connections and the involvement of Eddie Craven, owner of the crypto gambling site Stake.com, have raised eyebrows. While the platform’s attractive revenue split is sure to lure creators, its reputation and the loose regulations surrounding gambling and crypto have led some, like streamer Amouranth, to approach with caution.

The Kick Creator Program is undeniably a disruptive force in the streaming industry. Its unique approach to revenue sharing, coupled with the allure of cryptocurrency, could potentially reshape the landscape. However, the platform’s crypto connections and the associated risks may deter some creators. Only time will tell if Kick can make a significant dent in Twitch’s creator numbers.
