IShowSpeed, a famous YouTuber and Manchester United supporter was attacked during the first half of Saturday’s FA Cup final.
The online sensation was present at Wembley Stadium to support his favorite team, Manchester United, as they faced bitter rivals, Manchester City. The American also provided his admirers with a live feed of him watching the game.
Things got off on the wrong foot for Manchester United when Ilkay Gundogan scored for City after only 13 seconds. Midway through the first half, speed had a bad day made worse when he was accosted by someone who might have been a City fan.
The YouTuber was punched in his face by a Manchester City fan when he was talking to the camera during an ongoing water break. Speed looked around, surprised and furious at the sight of his assistant, but his bodyguard quickly jumped in front of them and tackled the man to the ground.
While still being detained by security and other supporters, the man got back to his feet. The American later confirmed the event led him to end his broadcast, although he did not specify what provoked his outburst at Speed.
A few minutes after the incident, Speed’s morale was likely boosted by Bruno Fernandes’s penalty goal that helped Manchester United square off the scores. The penalty was awarded to United after Jack Grealish was called for a handball on a cross.
