Recently, there’ve been many celebrities we have noticed that have started streaming on Twitch, including Post Malone and Mike Shinoda; where Twitch has done an excellent job at attracting such personalities. But here we seem to have a potential tech übermensch who isn’t averse to making Twitch their battlefield.
At the Meta Connect event that took place in California recently, the CEO, Mark Zuckerberg hinted at the possibility of him appearing on the platform for the first time.
This is because Mark Zuckerberg is willing to host a Twitch channel where he can play Civilizations – the video game. This game forces a player into thinking and gradually building an empire over the course of the game. It is also an old series, with the first volume coming out in 1991, the last one was released this year and the next one comes out next year.
This would be quite impressive, though it really becomes even more fascinating when you consider the fact that Zuckerberg is quite fond of the game. He has been playing it most of the time in his life, and it was the title that led him to study engineering. When he was told he got admission to study at Harvard, he was deeply involved with the game.
With a billion-dollar-plus wealth and presiding over one of the world’s biggest companies, this man still boasts of his achievements in Civilizations. Indeed, his wife only recently discovered that he has devoted thousands of hours to the game.
Looking at the amount of time he spends playing games in the Civilizations realm, it feels like he is one of the best players worldwide.
“In terms of strategy games, the one that I’m more likely to want to be the best in the world at is Civilization. I think at some point, I should do like a Twitch stream of me playing with someone because I’m pretty convinced I’m close to Grand Master status,” he said.
While he has not fashioned this Twitch channel of his, many are certain this is in the pipeline in the future. A world-renowned CEO would undoubtedly grab attention if he tried his hand at streaming on one of the most popular platforms on the internet.
