Pokimane announces date of her return to streaming

The streamer took a month-long break following multiple controversies springing around her.

Iconic female streamer Imane “Pokimane” Anys has revealed the date of her return to streaming through a tweet dated September 9th. The Twitch star has been in the centre of multiple controversies lately, which many believe is the reason for her sudden “break”.

On 6th August, the 24-year-old announced her plans to take a month-long break from streaming due to her feeling “burnt out” amid the pandemic. She mentioned how she wasn’t able to meet her family, friends or fans since the lockdown, which made her lose motivation for creating content.

Pokimane was involved in quite a lot of controversies at the time. She was held under fire by multiple popular content creators on YouTube like LeafyIsHere, who accused her of being a “hypocrite” by taking down other people’s videos of anyone who criticised her.

She was also blamed by the Leafy fan base when his YouTube channel was terminated following his dozens of videos targeting Pokimane. However, Pokimane later denied having any involvement with Leafy’s ban whatsoever.

In the middle of her break, Poki uploaded an apology video on YouTube addressing her past behaviour. She apologized for using racial slurs on stream in the past, and also for taking down other people’s content.

Luckily, it appears like Pokimane has bounced back from all the criticism and left the controversies in the past, as the streamer has announced her “official return stream” to be scheduled on September 11th. Fans will be able to catch her live on Twitch this friday on 12 PM PST/ 3 PM EST.

Poki fans will be looking forward to seeing what she has in store for them after the long month of waiting for her return to the streaming world.
